Instructions
- Prepare the Donuts:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a heart-shaped donut pan.
- Mix Dry Ingredients:
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Mix Wet Ingredients:
- In another bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- Combine:
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Fill the Pan:
- Spoon the batter into the prepared heart-shaped donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full.
- Bake:
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the donuts spring back when lightly pressed. Let them cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Prepare the Vanilla Glaze:
- In a small bowl, whisk together the confectioners’ sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Add red food coloring a drop at a time, mixing until you achieve your desired shade of pink or red.
- Assemble the Donuts:
- Dip each cooled donut face-down into the glaze, letting the excess drip off. Immediately sprinkle the glazed donuts with rainbow sprinkles for a festive touch.
- Set:
- Place the donuts on a wire rack to allow the glaze to set before serving.
