Description

These lazy chocolate chip cookie bars are a fuss-free twist on the classic chocolate chip cookie. With a soft, chewy texture and plenty of melty chocolate in every bite, these bars are perfect for a quick dessert or an anytime snack. They’re easy to prepare and bake in one pan, making cleanup a breeze!


Ingredients

Wet Ingredients:
• 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
• 1/2 cup granulated sugar
• 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
• 1 large egg
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Dry Ingredients:
• 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
• 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/4 teaspoon salt

Add-ins:
• 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips


Instructions

  • Preheat & Prep:

    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • Mix Wet Ingredients:

    • In a medium bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
    • Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Combine Dry Ingredients:

    • In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Mix & Fold:

    • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just incorporated.
    • Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Bake:

    • Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
    • Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the center is set.

 

  • Cool & Serve:

    • Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan before cutting into 12 squares.
    • Enjoy at room temperature for the best chewy texture.

Notes

For extra decadence, sprinkle a few extra chocolate chips on top before baking.
• You can add chopped walnuts or pecans for added crunch if desired.
• These bars store well in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
