Description

Crispy and gooey on the inside, these mozzarella fried cheese bites are a perfect appetizer or snack, coated in a flavorful breadcrumb crust.


Ingredients

  • 12 mozzarella cheese sticks, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Marinara sauce, for dipping (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a shallow bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Dip each mozzarella bite into the flour mixture, then into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or fryer over medium heat to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Carefully place the breaded cheese bites into the hot oil, frying in batches for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  5. Serve immediately with marinara sauce on the side for dipping, if desired.

Notes

  • For extra crispy bites, double bread the mozzarella by dipping them back into the egg and breadcrumbs after the first coating.
  • Ensure the oil is at the correct temperature to avoid the cheese melting too quickly or the coating burning.
