Scale
- 12 mozzarella cheese sticks, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- Marinara sauce, for dipping (optional)
Instructions
- In a shallow bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Dip each mozzarella bite into the flour mixture, then into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or fryer over medium heat to 350°F (175°C).
- Carefully place the breaded cheese bites into the hot oil, frying in batches for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- Serve immediately with marinara sauce on the side for dipping, if desired.
Notes
- For extra crispy bites, double bread the mozzarella by dipping them back into the egg and breadcrumbs after the first coating.
- Ensure the oil is at the correct temperature to avoid the cheese melting too quickly or the coating burning.
- These cheese bites are best served immediately for the best texture.
