Description

A delightful twist on the classic Rice Krispie Treats, these Strawberry Crunch treats combine the familiar gooey marshmallow-cereal base with a burst of strawberry flavor and an added crunch from crushed freeze-dried strawberries. Perfect as a quick snack, fun party dessert, or a playful treat for any occasion.


Ingredients

Marshmallow Base:

3 tablespoons unsalted butter

1 package (10 oz) mini marshmallows (about 4 cups)

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Cereal Mix:

6 cups Rice Krispies cereal

1/2 cup crushed freeze-dried strawberries

Optional Topping:

Strawberry jam or glaze (for drizzling)


Instructions

  • Melt and Mix:

    • In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
    • Add the mini marshmallows and stir continuously until completely melted and smooth.
    • Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Combine Ingredients:

    • Immediately add the Rice Krispies cereal and crushed freeze-dried strawberries to the melted marshmallow mixture.
    • Stir quickly until the cereal is evenly coated with the mixture.
  • Press and Set:

    • Transfer the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch pan.
    • Press it firmly into an even layer using a spatula or by lining the pan with wax paper and pressing down.
    • Allow the mixture to cool and set (about 30 minutes).

 

  • Serve:

    • Once set, cut into squares.
    • If desired, drizzle a little strawberry jam or glaze on top for an extra burst of flavor before serving.

Notes

  • Work quickly after melting the marshmallows as the mixture can begin to harden fast.
  • For an extra burst of fresh flavor, gently fold in a small handful of diced fresh strawberries after mixing the cereal (optional).
  • The use of crushed freeze-dried strawberries provides both an intense flavor and an extra crunch.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
